A Heart Awaits by Patrick Zaldarriaga

A Heart Awaits.

by: Patrick Zaldarriaga

I kissed your face before you left
I’ll miss your voice for I was swept
Come back and tell me your endeavours
To see your smile, you did me a favor

So as you leave my heart sheds tears
But I’ll be patient and conquer my fears
A promise I keep, your heart I swear
This poem I ask you to keep and bear

I swear again I wait your return
Until then, waves and tides will turn
In time my eyes will see you again
I’ll miss you so much, my love I send

Before our hands let go tonight
Let me see your face in sight
And I shall touch your gentle face
A final dance, we hold and pace

When you return my heart shouts loud
I’ll hold your hand, we’ll soar around
Before you go, this final touch
Take the stars, from afar I watch.
