Her Smile I Seek

As I heard a whisper from a distance
It seems to be a cry from hindrance
The road ahead presents a weeping girl
She came running, my mind’s a stir

For once, this moment seems profound
As I embraced her and cradled in sound
Yet tears continue to fall and behold
I’m left helpless, not a moment too bold

A mind working to solve this problem
My goal to see her smile so solemn
I will not stop and shall I stay
For God knows, this is my way

And I hold her hand, so soft and gentle
Like from dreams of heavenly angels
I know she’s one so I live to save her
May her wishes come true forever

Now I’m left staring at an angel’s face
And I see a smile greeting the days
Shall I swear to be her warrior
Forevermore, she is my angel…
