Gaming and Wrestling thoughts and other stuff…

for everyone

It’s been quite a while since I blogged so…here you go…
Wrestling: It’s that time of the year again. It’s WrestleMania season and the Road To Wrestlemania XXV has officially kicked off. With new world champions reigning, who knows what will happen next. I heard that the creative team is having a hell of a hard time trying to plan out Wrestlemania. The matches that are in the planning process include Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, John Cena vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship (could be a Triple Threat). And Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker, who holds the record of 16 wins and 0 losses at Wrestlemania. Other matches up in the air and are still being planned include a match between Chris Jericho and Roddy Piper or Hulk Hogan or Mickey Rourke, a Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy match and an ECW Championship Match between Christian and Jack Swagger. But then, this is Wrestlemania season. All these matches are just in beta, and all this could be scraped in an instant. We won’t know. We would just have to see and find out. The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania is on April 5 in Houston. A week after that would be the much-anticipated WWE Draft, where every superstar, announcer and referee is eligible to be drafted to other brands. Can’t wait for that one.
Oh a couple of notes. Former TNA X-Divison Champion Low-Ki has finally debuted at FCW (WWE’s Developmental Territory) under the new name KAVAL. It’s interesting to note that the FCW announcers said that Kaval is Filipino for warrior. I think someone needs to correct them that warrior in Filipino is KAWAL and not KAVAL. But in any case, it’s cool to know that they’re renamed Low-Ki after a Filipino word. Awesome. Oh yeah, Kaval is actually a Eurasian flute.
Another thing. Batista is coming here to Manila soon for his second visit. I presume that they took opportunity of this time to bring Batista here since he isn’t doing much right now ‘cos he’s recovering from his injuries. No exact date has been announced yet, but he will be here. Excited for that.h
It’s came as a complete shock to me today that Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt have been released from TNA Wrestling. They were two of the most athletic X-Division stars in TNA. It’s just a sad thought that fans will no longer be able to see that patented sick-flip piledriver, the Canadian Destroyer. I guess epic things must eventuall come to an end.
Scotty Goldman (known more as Colt Cabana in the indies) was also released from WWE this Friday. It was expected really. He wasn’t doing much and was primarily used as a jobber. But Colt Cabana is a really talented wrestler, and has achieved great success in the indy scene, winning the OVW Tag Championship and ROH Tag Championship (both with CM Punk), and winning previously the IWA-Mid South Southern Heavyweight Championship. See, this is what I dislike about WWE. They take in a talented wrestler, then they make no use of him. They totally disregard his ability, talent, skill and potential as a wrestler. Hell, they also do that with veterans. Good thing, they didn’t do that with Evan Bourne.
Gaming: So many effin new games. We got Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5, Pokemon Platinum, Killzone 2 and other great titles waiting to separate us from our cash. But that’s not what I’m going to talk about here.
So nVidia released this new technology for PC gaming that may just revolutionize gaming in a new way. Say hello to the nVidia GeForce 3D Vision peripheral. What this basically does is that (I’m not gonna go technical.) it can turn any PC game (I repeat, ANY PC game), may it be Left 4 Dead or Oblivion, it processes it and converts it into 3D, and with the glasses provided with the package, you could really feel that you’re in the game. Actually, we got something here. This would be our ticket to the next generation of gaming. I mean, past attempts on 3D and Virtual Reality Gaming (ehem…Virtual Boy…ehem) were completely crappy and ended up in trash cans around the world. But with this new release from nVidia, this shows a lot of promise and the potential 3D gaming has in the future. And let’s think that if they could implement this technology for PCs, without a doubt, they can also implement this technology with consoles. Anything is possible now. Gaming will soon be something that we never thought it’d be in our lifetime. …imagine playing Halo 3 and you actually see the Grunt or Brute trying to get a hold of you…that would be so effin awesome.

That’s it for now. ‘Til next time.
