Goodnight. Goodnight.

Goodnight. Goodnight.
BY PATRICK ZALDARRIAGA

Goodnight my lady, sleep sound, sleep tight
I’ll tell you my story, of our love at night
First thing I saw, I had you in my sight
Then my heart went out for a flight

Here I came, say my name, introductions
Friends we were, my heart now aglow
You were my maiden, a sweet kiss of fiction
In your eyes I had wandered

A warming friction
So passionate and close
Your songbird hymn, an addicting dose
Now and forever, an alluring ghost

Passions were deepened, at last we were
Your hand I kissed, with not even a slight falter
In a doubter’s eye, it never really mattered
A kiss after another, your hand in mine right after

You never failed to say
You loved me so each day
And now this is my way
To tell you what my heart has to say

I love you forever, my soul now, in debt
Words shall fail me and long have I wept
As you sleep, I lie down beside warmth
Goodnight, sleep tight, my maiden, my life.
