Her Smile

Her Smile.
BY PATRICK ZALDARRIAGA

As words fail me on this Friday night
The weekend comes, down goes the light
Took my place, the stars in sight
Deeper in the night, the sun now hides

Before she came, before I saw
Sitting alone, she had no flaw
Hair down, brown eyes, book on hand
I was left too struck to stand

Day in, day out, had a doubt
Yet I knew she was true and sound
Day in, day out, no doubt
I allowed my heart to shout

Weeks passed, same time, same place
Again there was an angel’s face
I had to speak, too many ways
This was love I felt today

As words fail me on this anonymous night
When everything is fine in line and right
She is everything in love and life
Then when she turns, I see her smile.
