And in an instant he’s gone.
Smiles and all with heaven just waiting
As the clouds like soft cotton
rest on his feet and letting him walk effortlessly

For the threads like strands of hair are short
And with a snap, a simple string all is lost
Bringing tears into the eyes of those loved and lost
No distance too great to affect the heart

For the life of a young and gentle child
Who with the graces of his persona
Touched the lives of many people
Never asking anything, but to return with a smile

A loss so great that the earth lies still
And people in awe stand with candles
Mourning the passing of a great champion
A link now missing in the chain of life

Fingers shaking and hearts sink down
But with smiles with only great memories
Those that cannot be captured by pictures
But rather captivated in the hearts

Rest now sweet light, for the pain is over
Walk into the pearly gates of life
While the angels clap for your appearance
And embrace the loving arms of the Lord

And though the world is now mourning a loss
You will always be remembered as a man left smiling
And through broken bones and a shattered self
Had a never breaking, never wavering soul

So an ode to you my dearest friend
We shall meet again when my strand is cut
We’ll share a glass of bountiful wine
And bask in the rolling pictures of our lives

For I have never known a thing truly good
I have never seen a light so bright
Except for one that helped me up
So you shall e remembered dear Pearl Heart

R.I.P. Patrick Zaldariaga You are one to be remembered as a champion, as a man who gave everything his all, and doing so with a smile on his face.
